Nothing says fall like a cozy, fun, and inviting front porch, but coming up with the perfect display can sometimes be tricky. You don’t want to overdo it with the decor, and you certainly don’t want to fall short (see what I did there??).
Follow mother nature’s lead
Layer with different heights, textures, and colors
Fill the space around the door and work outward
Mix your styles
Explore a modern style with natural tones non-traditional fall colors
Incorporate a festive doormat
Incorporate reclaimed wood for a more rustic cozy feel
Mix in natural elements such as leaves, acorns, sticks, etc.
Use pumpkins, squash, and gourds to your advantage
Add a personal touch by adding your family name/initial or a welcoming sign/mat
Consider compostable decoration
Do the unexpected by adding lanterns, crates, potted plants, etc.
Break the rules! Use painted or wooden pumpkins, fun patterns, funky signs, etc.
DON’T FORGET TO ADD A WREATH!
Let mother nature be your guide for mixing colors on your porch or front entry because she never gets it wrong. Pansies are a great fall flower with lots of mixed colors, and pick mums in three colors to coordinate. Hone in on one of those accent colors like yellow, burnt orange, or magenta for accent pillows or accessories.
