Here is a few monthly and annually home maintenance tasks you should be doing:
Unclog your sinks or drains- use a plunger that is not used as a toilet plunger
Clean front load washers and dryers- this causes less mold and mildew issues. Set your washer to the hottest and longest cycle, use two cups of vinegar and a quarter cup of baking soda. The dryer needs to be unplugged and pulled out from the wall, simply vacuum the dryer duct, tubing may need to be replaced.
Clean the dishwasher using a cup of vinegar monthly and run a cycle.
Clean and recaulk bathroom tiles to prevent mold and mildew.
Clean gutters and downspouts by using your hand or leaf blower so it does not get clogged.
Replace air filters to prevent mold growing in your home.
Replace lightbulbs to help save energy and also lights may need new wiring.
Power wash the exterior of your house including, deck, patio, fence, siding, and driveways.
Replace window screens, with having children or pets they can get damaged easily.
After a paint job it would make sense to replace outlet covers to make the house look more cohesive.
Don't do this all at once, set reminders on your phone or calendar if you still hang one of those on your fridge. A little upkeep here and there will go a long way especially being that this investment you get to live in!!
